What does CAGR mean?

CAGR is the constant annual rate that would take an initial value to a final value over the selected period, assuming compounding. It smooths out fluctuations; it does not show the actual return in each year.

CAGR = ((final value / initial value)1 / years − 1) × 100

For example, a value rising from 1,000 to 1,210 over two years has a CAGR of 10%. The calculator requires positive initial and final values and an end date later than the start date. Periods are estimated from months and days; results are rounded to two decimal places.

The result is an illustration, not a forecast or financial advice. It does not account for contributions, withdrawals, fees, taxes or inflation unless they are already reflected in the values entered.
